Students Stories
In tribute to our volunteer tutors and their adult students we have compiled this series of stories to showcase the efforts, progress and commitment that both students and tutors have made toward improving English literacy skills.
While these stories may not be grammatically perfect, they are examples of the dedication that both students and tutors have toward gaining greater skills and confidence in using the English language.
“Stories from Our Students”
George's story
When the reading gets harder, it means I'm learning more. If it's too easy, then I am not learning. President Kennedy once said, "We didn't need to go to the moon; we chose to go. Not because it is easy, but because it is hard." That's the challenge of life.
John's story
Each day is always a challenge. There is always something different. I’m feeling more confident about my reading. I am now walking with my head up and not down. Reading for me is a challenge, but I'm not the one to give up. As long as there is someone to help me, I will give it my all and not disappoint myself and those who encourage me.
