Tutor Training
Dates: January 16, 23, 30 and
February 6, 13, 20 2010, Saturdays only

Cost: $45.00 to help defray the
cost of books and materials.
All interested adults aged 18 years and older who
have graduated from high school are welcome to
attend.

All tutor trainings comprise 6 sessions.
Trainees must attend all 6 in order to receive
their certificate.
Must have minimum of 6 tutor-trainees to hold this training

“Andragogy” Workshop/Tutor In-Service Postponed from Feb 6th to Feb 20th - Due to the prediction of a major snowstorm for tomorrow, February 6th, Literacy Volunteers of Monmouth County is cancelling the below scheduled workshop and it will now be held on Saturday, February 20th at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 91 West Main St., Freehold, NJ. If you registered to attend on Feb. 6th your name will remain on the list unless the office hears otherwise. If you would like to attend on this newly scheduled date please contact the office as well.
All You Wanted to know about Andragogy
Jeanette Fraga, a tutor-trainer from Literacy Volunteers of West Husdon will present a workshop on "andragogy; the process of engaging adult learners in the structure of the learning experience." Using a safari-based lesson plan, participants will break into small groups to find and create activities for various adult learning styles. Space is limited, so please call the office if you would like to save a spot.
